WHO PROTECTS THE CITIZENS OF TRIESTE, THREATENED BY ITALIAN NATIONALISTS PROTECTED BY THE ITALIAN AUTHORITIES?
This is happening in Trieste. The “system” that simulates Italian sovereignty over Trieste doesn’t want to let go. It has no legal way to oppose the legal instances of the citizens, as they claim respect for the international treaties establishing the legal status of Free Territory for Trieste and for the Italian laws that implement it.
The latest judgment of the Regional Administrative Court is a proof of it. The local judiciary is doing is best (and worst) to demonstrate the impossible, to declare that Italy has sovereignty over “Zone A” of the Free Territory of Trieste. Even on the International Free Port of Trieste and its free zones.
But despite two years of intimidations, the citizens don’t give and keep standing before Court. Whenever the judiciary rejects a request it punishes the appellants with huge fees, and “Il Piccolo”, monopolist newspaper and media of choice of the “system” writes about it to scare more citizens.
Communication is important in this battle. The local Italian authorities have almost all media under full control, and they use it to scare the citizens of Trieste away from Free Trieste, the movement that is struggling for the re-establishment of rule of law in the Free Territory, starting with the correct exercise of the temporary civil administration of Trieste and on its international port.
Despite one year of such intimidating articles, Free Trieste doesn’t fall. The people become aware of their rights more and more. So, how to stop such peaceful rebels, who fight with law and right? Provoking them, and presenting them as terrorists.
The latest judgments of administrative Courts emphasized very well this new strategy.
The appellants recall the legal force of the 1947 Treaty of Peace (enforced and implemented in the Italian legislation) whose art. 21 makes Trieste independent from Italy.
The Regional Court rejected the appeal, declared the appellant “subversive” accusing them of “attempting to the unity of the State”. All while magazine Limes portrays Free Trieste as an armed group about to rebel against Italy. The source? Limes dismisses it as “strictly confidential”.
Yet, this is enough for senator Francesco Russo (PD, Italian Democratic Party) to interrogate the Italian Minister of the Interior, requesting him to repress Free Trieste. In his interrogation, Russo “targets” me, Roberto Giurastante, President of the Movement, on mere opinions.
On 10 February 2014, during Free Trieste’s press conference, I recalled that all States have rights over the international Free Port. Even States that aren’t in the EU, Russia for instance. Russia won WWII after all, it signed the 1947 Treaty of Peace that rules the Free Territory’s demilitarization and neutrality, which Italy is violating since sixty years, unpunished.
And if the Italian Government does not comply with its commitment exercising the temporary civil administration of the FTT, that must be returned to an Allied Military Government. That is how things were from 1947 to 1954 after all. In my opinion, that should be the WWII victorious powers. That’s it. But to the Senator of an antidemocratic regime as Italy, opinions are crimes. If he doesn’t like them, of course.
Eliminate Free Trieste!
Eliminating Free Trieste, no matter how, to maintain the unlawful “status quo” seems to be the latest priority of the local nationalistic camorra, which fears as never before to lose Trieste and the international Free Port. Italy has no legal way to oppose Trieste’s claims: we are not separatists, we are independent since 1947, all we need it to re-establish the rule of law.
Free Trieste receives escalating threats, from incitement to hate to the physical elimination of its leaders. But, of course, the local authorities tolerate, even “encouraged” it: our aggressors don’t need to hide, all it takes is waving an Italian flag and they can do whatever they want.
One such patriotic association (Trieste Pro Patria) can even demonstrate in front of the Movement’s head office. They long for disorders: apparently, the head of the Trieste police only gives “restrictive” prescriptions to the “villains” of Free Trieste.
When they attend the Movement’s hearing before the Court of Trieste, the citizens are controlled as to make clear they are regarded as “terrorists”. On the March 19th hearing, which revolved on the 1954 MoU, the DIGOS (political police) created files about attenders.
Yet, no action is taken against their “friendly” members of “Trieste Pro Patria” who safely threat Free Trieste, the “public enemy” of the local simulators of Italian sovereignty. So, the Italian “patriots” call Giurastante “Giudastante” and claim he shall be “taken out of the way” – hopefully – with the support of the judiciary, or they’ll have to do it themselves… and they would hurt me.
Let that be.

Here are the translations of the threats, from Facebook:
Nino Martelli: ISN’T TODAY MARCH 19th, THE DAY THE NATIVES WERE GONNA KICK THE BUTT OF US “LIANTA” [derogative Triestin term for Italian] OVER DUINO…YET THEY ARE HAPPY ANYWAYS, EACH LOST JUDGMENT ONE STEP AHEAD FOR INDEPENDENCE ….AND THE PEOPLE OF TRIESTE PAY FOR IT, GOOD FOR THEM
Giuseppe Rizzo: …I lost count… what ultimatum was it? It should be the third or fourth they miss..
Luigi Lenardon: one ultimatum a day gets the giudastante [an offensive reference to Judas, misspelling the family name of the Author] out of the way..
Giuseppe Rizzo: may God grants it…
Luigi Lenardon: because if we grant it… we hurt him!! .. :)
