GET RID OF THE SUPPORTERS OF TRIESTE’S INDEPENDENCE
Since Saturday [10 May 2014] Free Trieste is under a violent attack. A group of dissidents, who call themselves the “Board of founding Members” (sic) is trying to seize control of the Movement overthrowing the democratically elected bodies, appointed during the 18 January [2014] General Assembly.
The dissidents have shown their true colors exactly when Free Trieste is extremely involved in defending the rights of Trieste’s people at home and abroad.
Including with the “No Election Day” campaign against the illegitimate May 25th European elections, including their denounce right at the polling stations.
This outright “coup” was obviously planned before being enacted, on Saturday 10 May [2014] at 9.56 PM, when Free Trieste’s media was seized. The “rioters” took full control of Free Trieste’s Facebook and website, claiming that the Management Board and the President were disqualified.

This illegitimate act is the doing of a self-proclaimed “Board” (4 people) who, in breach of the Movement’s Statute, claims full powers, cut the Movement’s bodies out, and, after stealing its members’ data, has unleashed a massive, derogatory campaign against the Management board in charge. All of this aims at summoning an illegitimate “extraordinary” assembly to legitimize the “golpe”.
Some third millennium cyber-dictatorship, indeed.
This is how a “board” of “honorary” members claims to have overthrown the president, elected by acclamation during Free Trieste’s 18 January [2014] assembly. Yet, that “board” is not even an official body of the Movement. And, under the Statute, has absolutely no authority to do anything remotely similar to this.
The “golpe” has even obtained “external” support: from improbable separatists based in Veneto and Lombardy, but also and especially from the, ultranationalist Italian right wing. The same people who are raging opponents of the very chance that Trieste be legitimately administered again.
Because that administration would weaken the local system of corruption: the re-establishment of the rule of law would prevent the destruction of the Northern Sector of Trieste’s international Free Port.
Because the “funding members” are doing something perfectly compatible with the local system’s needs: the “golpe” aims at destroying the only political Movement that challenges the illegal simulation of Italian sovereignty over the present-day Free Territory.
And all of this with an attack from the inside, well planned by the “services”. Taking advantage of the weaknesses of the group that established Free Trieste.
A temptation hard to resist for people who are either longing for the mirage of power or in need of judiciary protection. Unbearable indeed for the “weak” founding gods.
At least, for four of them. Because the fifth is the president, and he won’t give up, so he must be eliminated.
Updates are to follow soon. As the golpe continues, as its promoters feel legitimized and protected by the (not-so-hard to see) tolerance of local authorities, the citizens of the FTT that support Free Trieste’s legitimate representatives and their legal actions won’t give up either.
And they won’t give up, no matter what, not even in the face of the fascist squads of the rebel group.
It is the same squads who, during their patrols, claim they want to go after those who disagree with their violent methods one after another. The same people who claim they can occupy by force the bulwark of legality, represented by the headquarter of the Movement. [Note: they did actually try to do it in June].
To us, it is either the FTT or death: for real.
