Free Trieste

SIEGE!!

SIEGE!!

The dissidents outside the building that hosts Free Trieste’s office.

On the evening of June 3rd [2014], Free Trieste’s office was sieged. The gang of the s.c. “founders” tried to occupy it by force.

This is the same gang that took over Free Trieste’s website and social media and used it to unleash a very violent campaign, inciting violence and aggressions. Now the gang intensified its actions: after summoning a fake assembly to eliminate the Movement’s representatives (legitimately elected by the January General assembly), it now claims to have “substitutes” Free Trieste’s Management Board, and even to have elected a new president.

A perfect golpe. An action supported with mendacious propaganda, typical and worth a dictatorship.

The Italian authorities did nothing as the dissidents proclaimed in public that they would take the Movement’s headquarter back, no matter what.

That gang claims that Free Trieste’s office is “occupied” by the “enemies”.

In truth, volunteers who support the legitimate Management Board are protecting it, as they refuse to accept the illegitimate gang. Which means, the heads of this dissidents that act about the same as Fascist squadracce [patrols].

For instance, as they did in the June 3rd raid.

About thirty people showed up at the entrance of Free Trieste’s office. Then they attempted to deactivate the main door’s opening system. Unable to get in, the violent gang patrolled the office’s entrance for two more hours, effectively trapping the people inside. The situation remained very tense until the Carabinieri sent the dissidents away.

It is all a set of intimidation attempts, aiming at destabilizing the Free Trieste Movement from the inside. Attempts that are becoming more and more violent.

This is a  high-risk situation, and it looks like the local Italian authorities are willingly under-evaluating it. It is almost as if they were waiting for the outcome of the “internal” fight. But the truth is, the ongoing friction has  external factors and actors as well.
