RECESSION

lavoce03

Translation: “Politicians and media hush the misery of citizens up: it’s time to stop that!” the main title of an important article published on “La Voce di Trieste“.

Do you know how do riots start? When misery spreads all around, but the lords of politics, of information and of finance ignore or minimize it. Until it breaks out, overthrowing them with a violence that is destructive for all, because it is proportional to the pain that has been suffered.

Paolo G. Parovel

It is surprising that, while about all other States are recovering from the economic crisis, Italy is, since 20 years, in a perpetual state of recession.

What should surprise is that Italy, the only European State anchored to an archaic, antidemocratic ruling system arising from the uncomfortable legacy of a bloodshed Risorgimento and of the consequent fascist regime, remains into existence despite being ruled by a mafia-like establishment that shows no sign of change. How long still?

The ongoing, continuing radicalization of an establishment that, in the name of its own interests, did not, and does not, hesitate to shred the social and economic tissue into pieces; high levels of corruption derive from this; legal uncertainty and a political use of justice.

It all depends on a rotten political establishment.

The people’s absolute incapability to rebel against this unfortunate state of things and, rather, following a mindset deriving from decades of repressive governments, accepting injustice and criminality instead of standing for their own rights. All of this results in the Italian society being unable to politically renew itself. And this means it is collapsing. There is no way out.

Finally, it certainly won’t be the EU of bankers to save Italy from its imminent humanitarian catastrophe. For economic powers, “saving” a State in difficulty only means fixing its accounts, nothing to do with its enslaved folk.
