Public Prosecutor Federicco Frezza is investigating more and more people. This is part of the tireless investigations of the local Italian authorities against Free Trieste and the people of Trieste who claim their rights established by the 1947 Treaty of Peace, in force (and fully recognized also by Italy, for the matter). It is rights that the local establishment refuses to comply with.
After much-acclaimed (useless) investigations against the hundreds of citizens who oppose illegal Italian taxation in Trieste, after attempting to sell Free Trieste’s peaceful demonstrations as “seditious gatherings”, the investigative authorities are desperately seeking just any fascist-era excuse to outlaw a Movement that does nothing.
Except, of course, standing against the corruptions of the provisional authorities that (mis)administer the present-day Free Territory of Trieste.
But there is more. Believe it or not, there is something even stranger than this!
August 2013: who is the local Italian police’s top wanted criminal? It’s the “Scarlet Primpertel” of the struggle for Trieste’s independence of Trieste! An unknown person, only known by pen name “Libero Cosmopolita” (Free Cosmopolite).
What crime did this person commit? Libero Cosmopolita “dared” to challenge Italian authorities by no less than… leaving a poem on the monuments to Maximilian of Habsburg and of Elizabeth of Austria.
What kind of poem is it? A subversive one, of course!

The short poem refers to former Italian Parliamentarian Roberto Menia’s address to the Superintendent for Artistic Heritage, Picchionne (woodpeaker is a wordplay on “Picchio”) for her to remove Free Trieste’s insignias from the Piazza della Borsa office, because he lives in front of it.
Thanks to some hard-working police officer who informed Mr. Frezza about such a “criminal” poem, “Libero Cosmopolita” is now a dangerous, much wanted criminal.
How is such an important investigation ending? Where is “Libero Cosmopolita” hiding? Who protects them? Are they already in prison for “seditious poetry”?
The citizens of the Free Territory of Trieste cannot wait to find out…
