FREE TRIESTE OPPOSES THE LNG TERMINAL IN MONFALCONE (LISERT)

Thursday, September 19th. – When it comes to LNG terminals, Free Trieste does not engage in political chattering. Instead, it faces this and other problems with serious, law-abiding actions. Free Trieste has lodged its observations against the so-called “mini LNG terminal” that a political and economic interest group is trying to force in the Lisert area, pressing the Municipalities of Monfalcone and Duino Aurisina – Devin Nabrežina. Free Trieste’s observations raise environmental and legal concerns.

We are publishing the document (HERE, in Italian) as well as some more useful information to guide the mislead sailors therough sea of local disinformation. Indeed, false information is spread by local newspaper Il Piccolo and, lately, also by the fake pro-independence gangs of via Roma [later via Crispi].

 Who’s behind: familiar PD.

Many were surprised by the aggressiveness with which the project’s official promoter, Alessandro Vescovini, is attempting to force the LNG terminal. He is going as far as threatening with lawsuits whoever objects, no matter how serious the objections are. It is the same aggressiveness as that of the project’s main supporter, be it overt or in the shadow: the Italian Democratic Party (Partito democratico – PD). Indeed, in spite of its own name, this party is an hotbed for the old and new all-devouring establishment, one that attempts to get all public offices available and promotes all the most expensive of all projects, no matter if those constitute a danger for the community.

They are the same – former Christian-Democrat and former Communist – PD hierarchs that promote the Northern Free Port’s illegal urbanization, all while avoiding the serious, pending anti-Mafia and anti-corruption questions.

Finally, they are the same gang that supports the Zaule LNG terminal, a project of Gas Natural Italia (currently confiscated and under compulsory administration by anti-Mafia authorities). They only proclaim to oppose it in view of the elections, all while pressing the EU for it to force the LNG terminal on us, for instance, delaying the signing of the Ministerial Decree that would ultimately stop it. The Decree only exists thanks to Ms. Monassi, Madam President of the Port.

The ongoing operation.

At this point, the PD gang hopes to get rid of Ms. Monassi, targeting her with more and more violent propaganda, in the hope her substitute is someone from their inner circles and, therefore, revives the illegal, constructing speculation of the Northern Free Port (still avoiding the anti-Mafia questions) and relaunches the Zaule LNG terminal, be it with Gas Natural (as long as the anti-Mafia authority allows) or some other company.

All while trying to win more ground for their Zaule plan by forcing the “mini LNG termina” in the Lisert area. Indeed, despite the name, there is nothing “mini” in the project. The “mini” LNG terminal is as huge and dangerous as any other, and the pressing relies on how small the municipalities involved are. The plan is to bend them first and then to press Trieste, all while the PD turns into one more local political “camorra”.

Yet again, in order to do this, the PD needs more than seize the Port Authority: what it needs is also marginalizing, bribing, discrediting whoever successfully opposes the LNG project in Zaule. This means the Republic of Slovenia, the SIOT (TAL Transalpine Pipeline), and environmentalist groups Alpe Adria Green and Greenaction Trasnational, lead by Roberto Giurastante and supported by Free Trieste since January 2014 when Mr. Giurastante, already a founder, became the Movement’s President.

Indeed, the main, successful actions against the LNG terminals, ongoing since a long time, are promoted by him. They are described in his extraordinary investigative book “Tracks of Legality”. Mr. Giurastante’s actions consist in three petitions to the EU Parliament and a complaint to the EU Commission. The complaint was fundamental for the EU to put Italy under review. Finally, on January 22nd, 2013, the EU Parliament invited Roberto Giurastante to explain the problem in Brussels.

And jackdaws with peacocks feathers

In view of this, it is unsurprising that even the fake pro-independence gang responsible of inventing a “Cubic Free Territory”, based in via Roma and close to the Italian establishment, in their ragefull attempts to hamper and discredit Mr. Giurastante without sparing defamation and lies, including pretending that they are the Free Trieste Movement, are copying its statements and claiming its merits. Merits they certainly don’t deserve.

After attempting to sell the certified copy of some 60-years old status record as a recognition of present-day sovereignty and citizenship, and after trying to sell 600 people attending their event – including the public – as 2000 they are trying to make it seem tempt to persuade people to be the authors of the battles and victories that crossing the line again. This time they try to claim for themselves Mr. Giurastante’s achievements in the battle against LNG terminals. It was Vito Potenza, the cubic gang’s president himself to say it to the press. All while his gang brags about it on the very Facebook and website they stole in May!.

The truth is, the gang’s bosses  (Vito Potenza, Stefano Ferluga, Adriano Ciacchi, Arlon Stok) were at the 2013 EU Parliament hearing only upon Mr. Giurastante’s own invitation. They were his bag carriers, for Greenaction. Except they praise themselves for it like jackdaws with peacocks feathers on their tail.

Indeed, not only when it comes to defending the Free Territory of Trieste, but even when it comes to standing against the LNG terminals, the incompetent “cubic” gang cannot do more than selling windfalls hoping to snatch some vote. The same way as Italian politicians do. All while Free Trieste builds good, solid arguments: here and internationally.
