The United Nations Security Council issued a very recent document confirming the present-day Free Territory of Trieste‘s legal status. Indeed, Trieste is and independent State under a provisional regime of Government, under the UN’s own protection, and it has an international Free Port.
The International Provisional Representative of the Free Territory of Trieste – I.P.R. F.T.T. considers the document’s publication useful. In particular, this document may help to avoid further misunderstandings or disputes with the bodies in charge of exercising the present-day Free Territory’s provisional civil administration, entrusted to the Italian Government’s responsibility.
The I.P.R. F.T.T. is explaining the new UNSC document during a press conference.
