Text of the “State of the Free Territory of Trieste and of its international Free Port address” (2016)

On Thursday, September 14th, eve of the anniversary of the Free Territory of Trieste‘s establishment, Roberto Giurastante, President of the Free Trieste Movement, delivered the first «State of the Free Territory of Trieste and of its international Free Port address». The crowded press conference with refreshments took place in the prestigious head office of the Movement, in Piazza della Borsa 7.

The Addresses’ transcript, attached to this press note, summarizes the progress of the action for the re-establishment of the rights of the Free Territory of Trieste, of its citizens and residents, of its enterprises, and the rights of all States over its Free Port, thanks to the intense legal and political-diplomatic actions of Free Trieste, from the first, 2013 notice of default to the Italian Government, to the actions initiated by the International Representative since 2015.

At the Addresses’ end, President Giurastante declared that «the complete enforcement of the rights of the Free Territory of Trieste as Free Port and international financial is now in harmony with the international development of investments and of free trade that can receive enormous advantages from the role of Trieste as independent economic center between the Mediterranean and Central-Eastern Europe.» and invites all to be «confident that the ultimate goal is not far away».
