Investigative newspaper “La Voce di Trieste” opens with title:
“The shadow of the mafias and the interests on the Port and the Iron works”
When you stand, without second interests, for collective rights, it is normal suffering all kinds of attacks. I know it full well, I experienced it first hand through years of battles for civil rights and for the environment. The mud-slinging machine is always there for you, whenever you are too much of a bother for the establishment.
Yet, if being under enemy fire is part of the fight, being also under friendly fire is completely unpleasant. It is the kind of situation that makes you ask yourself if it was worth it, if the legal battles you are bearing at the price of enormous sacrifices are still worth it.
Since three years, I stand first in line for the Free Territory of Trieste’s rights, currently, I am also the president of the Free Trieste Movement.
I was the first citizen of Trieste to demand compliance with the temporary civil administration of my State, declaring myself a citizen of the Free Territory of Trieste – FTT: LINK.
I was never afraid to claim my rights as a citizen of the FTT, be it before Italian courts, who instead protect the simulation of Italian sovereignty over the Free Territory, be it before the European Parliament, the United Nations, or international diplomats.
No threat ever scratched my firm will to conclude this just mission, to restore the freedom and dignity of my own people.
But lately the rather predictable external aggression was strengthened with an internal aggressions, the most dangerous. Finding out that your own brothers in arms consider you an enemy of the cause, associating themselves to the attacks of the worst kind of Italian nationalists, those advocating your physical elimination, well, that is plain disgusting.
Because while you are at risk, a target of the ‘ndrangheta for stopping, side by side with a few brave ones, an illegal speculation worth billions Euro at the expenses of the international Free Port of Trieste, it is rather unpleasant being stabbed in the back by persons you know, all while they become more and more similar to those attacking you.
On 18 April [2014], as part of this defamatory campaign, I was once again attacked publicly and violently on social network Facebook. The other target was Paolo G. Parovel, the courageous director of newspaper La Voce di Trieste, the only newspaper to denounce the scandalous Mafia infiltrations in the Port of Trieste.
The attacks, advocating with unbelievably defamatory and racist slurs our “elimination” were the commentary to a multi-vocal campaign triggered by a member of the Free Trieste Movement.
This is the [translation] of some attacks:
“WE MUST GET RID OF THE TWO OF THEM AS SOON AS POSSIBLE”
“I WOULD GO FOR A SOLUTION… KIND OF… FINAL”
Who are the real enemies?
